Principal’s Welcome
I am very proud to welcome you to our school. Slacks Creek State School is a co-educational, state school catering for students in prep to year 7. We have a student population of approximately 290, who are supported ably in their learning by a group of dedicated, professional teachers and ancillary staff. Our core business at Slacks Creek State School is the teaching of reading. Reading underpins all other learning and as such is explicitly taught in every classroom, everyday. This expectation is supported by focussed professional development across the early and middle phases of learning. In 2009, the year of creativity, I look forward to our teachers, students and community responding to the challenge of exploring and developing their creative skills. Key events will showcase what our staff, students and families are capable of. I for one am very excited! As principal of Slacks Creek State School it is my expectation that every child attending our school is here to learn. I believe all students are able to achieve and I support our staff and families to ensure learning opportunities are optimised in a safe and productive setting.
