Children who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder or Intellectual Impairment are then verified by Education Queensland are eligible for services by an Advisory Visiting Teacher with expertise in ASD or Intellectual Impairement respective of the diagnosis. The AVT then provides weekly support to the classroom teacher (offering strategies, resources and knowledge in the disability) and also direct services to the student. (Based at Slacks Creek State School and servicing other schools in Logan, Albert, Beaudesert District) Moira Graham - A.V.T - Intellectual Impairment Tammy Reid - A.V.T - Autistic Spectrum Disorder Advisory Visiting Teachers provide support to classroom teachers of students with disabilities. |
